On the morning of February 12, 2025 (the 15th day of the first lunar month in the Year of the Snake), Duc Chinh Ward organized the opening ceremony of the 2025 Yen Lam Temple Festival. Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Dinh Thang, a member of the City Party Committee and Secretary of the Ward Party Committee, along with members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward.

Overview of the Yen Lam Temple Festival Opening Ceremony

Yen Lam Temple worships five Guardian Deities: Dai Lieu Phu Te Do Chi Than; Dai Lieu Tu Pho Ho Cu Si Chi Than; Trung Uy Hung Hoan Qua Cam Trung Liet Chi Than; Tri Uy Tuong Quan Chinh Hieu Uy Canh Trung Ba Cuong Nghi Chi Than; and Kham Sai An Quang Su Kiem Kinh Mon Phu Hiep Tran Thu Quan Do Chi Huy Su Dong Phai Hau Minh Man Chi Than.

For a long time, Yen Lam Temple has been a cultural and religious hub, a bond connecting the community, a symbol of the ancient village's authority, and a unique beauty in the cultural heritage of Duc Chinh. The organization of the Yen Lam Temple Festival aims to preserve historical and cultural relics, pay respect to the five guardian deities, and uphold the moral principle of "Drinking water, remember its source" by the current generation toward their predecessors. It also seeks to gradually revive good customs and traditional culture among the people. Particularly, it aims to foster religious and spiritual awareness among the people regarding the local historical and cultural relics, thereby promoting and disseminating the values of these relics. This contributes to raising the sense of responsibility among officials and citizens in practicing, preserving, and promoting the value of national cultural heritage.

In the past, Yen Lam Temple was destroyed by war and time, leaving only ruins. However, the people have preserved intact six royal decrees bestowed by kings from the 6th year of Tu Duc (1853) to the 9th year of Khai Dinh (1924) for Yen Lam Temple.

With the attention of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, and relevant city agencies, as well as the support of organizations, individuals, and Duc Chinh natives working across the country, Yen Lam Temple has been restored and renovated. By 2020, the main structures were completed, including the main temple with an area of 230m² and auxiliary works and gardens covering 2,361m². In early 2024, the parking area and asphalt pavement in front of the temple gate were completed. At the festival, the Ward Fatherland Front Committee also called on organizations, individuals, and local compatriots to contribute their hearts, efforts, intelligence, and resources to continue completing the second phase of the project, ensuring Yen Lam Temple becomes more spacious and preserves the local historical, cultural, and spiritual beauty.
