Trung Tiet Pagoda
Trung Tiet Pagoda, also known as Tuyet Pagoda, is located in Nghia Hung village, An Sinh commune, Dong Trieu town, about 2km northeast of An Sinh temple. . Trung Tiet Pagoda was ranked a special national relic in 2013 along with relics of temples and tombs of Tran kings in Dong Trieu.
According to Dai Viet historical records, Trung Tiet Pagoda was built in the early 14th century by two loyalists of King Tran Anh Tong, Dang Tao and Le Chung. Dang Tao and Le Chung were talented, virtuous people who were extremely loyal and respected and trusted by King Anh Tong and the court. In 1320, when King Tran Anh Tong died, only the father, Dang Tao and Le Chung were allowed to participate in the writing of the will. The court built Thai Lang for his remains, and they voluntarily moved their ancestors' graves and brought their families, their wives and children, to live here to take care of the mausoleum, build a temple to worship Buddha, and stay here for the rest of their lives. Every year, when the king paid homage to Thai Lang, the two men often fled to another place, only wishing to stay and worship the mausoleum, not asking for anything else. There are documents recorded that: poor Dang Tao, the king gave 20 acres of field, ordered Tran The Hung to bring paper, but this field was previously owned by the concubine Thien Xuan. Thien Xuan kept the old paper and plowed it, but Dang Tao did not argue with her, The Hung knew the truth and told the king the truth, the king immediately collected the paper and returned the field to Dang Tao, Dang Tao did not take it. make glad. Le Chung moved the grave, sold the land, brought his wife and children's family to Yen Sinh to build a house there. Both of them were in Yen Sinh until their death. Later, when King Tran Nghe Tong came to Yen Sinh, in memory of his two loyal servants, he sent Trung An to restore the old pagodas of Dang Tao and Le Chung, re-granted fields for worship, and gave the temple the name Trung Tiet Pagoda. "Central" means loyal, wholeheartedly to people, wholeheartedly to water, "Tiet" means reputation and human value). The book Viet su Thong cac muc (Volume IV, vol. 9) and Dai Nam Nhat Thong Chi together record this. In the history of the Dai Viet nation, there are many examples showing loyalty to the army and patriotism, but with the two subordinates under the Tran dynasty, Dang Tao and Le Chung, they were devoted and loyal to the king and the country. Taking advantage of the family and themselves has left the beauty in the cultural and moral traditions of the people of Dai Viet.
Since ancient times, when building religious architecture, our forefathers attach great importance to the direction and art of feng shui. The spiritual land that relics often choose must be high and cool. Just like the religious buildings at that time, Trung Tiet pagoda turned to the south. The pagoda was built on a flat land with an area of about 0.5ha, surrounded by many ancient trees. In the past, according to the people, there was a 2000-acre lake in front of the temple, in the lake there were 3 small hills called "Tieu Tam Son". Previously, the way to the temple was by the lakeside. Behind the pagoda, about 2km along the way the crow flies is the tomb of King Tran Anh Tong, a little further is Bao Dai mountain with Ngoa Van pagoda, closer is Quynh Lam pagoda where the second ancestor of the Truc Lam sect is Phap Loa. maintain. From here look at Dong pagoda in Yen Tu and look at Thanh Mai pagoda in Chi Linh, Hai Duong. On clear days, the temple's shadow can be seen clearly, but every day, only clouds play over the mountains. Thus, it can be seen that during the Tran Dynasty, this land was once the Buddhist center of Dai Viet.

Trung Tiet Pagoda under the Tran and Le dynasties was restored many times, after a long time being destroyed by nature, the pagoda was degraded. During the Nguyen Dynasty, the pagoda was restored and rebuilt, and there is still a stone stele in front of the temple door recording this. The pagoda was rebuilt under the Nguyen Dynasty including the main pagoda, the ancestral house, the model house and some other auxiliary works such as the monk house, the guest house, the kitchen. Until March 2018 the architectural complexes of Trung Tiet pagoda include:
       Main Temple:
It has a Dinh-style architecture, an area of 29m2, a back wall, a red tile roof. The outer space is a pavilion to worship the road, on the right to worship the Monk, on the left to worship the Saint Tang. Next is the harem, which is separated by a system of arched doors 1.16m wide, 1.95m high, embossed with the image of two dragons adoring the moon. The arrangement of worshiping statues in the temple includes 5 levels of worship: the top is a statue of the Three Worlds representing countless Buddhas in the past, present and future; The second level is the statue of Buddha Amitabha Tam Ton; the third level is Buddha Shakyamuni and two disciples are Manjushri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva; The fourth level is the standard Quan Yin Buddha statue; The 5th level is the newborn Shakyamuni Buddha image.
Under the Tran dynasty Buddhism developed and became the national religion. The system of temples and pagodas was paid much attention and built.
       The Ancestral House:
The Ancestral House is located in the center of the pagoda, with 3 compartments architecture, total area 31m2, roof 3.2m high, on the right there is a side door going to the back. On the roof decorated with lotus flower pattern. From the yard to the foundation of the three-level high ancestral house, it was paved with red bricks of the Tran Dynasty with three levels of foundation.
The Patriarch's house only has a pavilion to worship the road, the middle one is a three-level podium. The first podium is the statue of Tam The, the second level is the altar, the third level is the statue of Bodhidharma and the attendant.
The right compartment is the altar, including statues of Duc Ong, Nam Tao, and Tho Than.
The left compartment worships the statue of Saint Tang.
       Model House:
Located to the right of the main pagoda, there are 2 compartments with a total area of 38m2, with a back wall architecture. Inside worshiping Mother of Four Palaces, Duc Thanh Tran and Tho Than.
Currently, Trung Tiet Pagoda still preserves many valuable artifacts, typically statues dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries with intricate carvings, colors and patterns. In addition, there are many other artifacts such as the foot of the foundation made of many materials and the bricks with the words Vinh Ninh on the wall.

Bare. As a construction work during the flourishing period of Buddhism, it was also a work built by the court, so it was respected and cared for by the Tran dynasty aristocrats. The pagoda is a place to educate the next generation about our nation's good morals, about human obligations in the implementation of the "three kingdoms, five commons" principles that are still valid today for us to follow and learn. practice.
Trung Tiet Pagoda over the years, finished with relics of the Tran dynasty still preserved here, clearly reflects the construction date, scale and development of Tran dynasty architecture. Through artifacts such as monolithic stone pillars decorated with lotus flowers dating from the Tran Dynasty, bricks, dragon necks, stone stele, worshiping statues...
